Seven at One Blow

I was going through the many, many, many word documents on my desktop trying to come up with the subject of my next WIP. Okay. You caught me. I was procrastinating because I’m supposed to be in the middle of writing two books to release this summer.

I’ve been watching a lot of podcasts about launch and rapid release strategies and had a random thought about a Grimm story I read as a kid where the protagonist kills seven flies with one swing and stitches a banner boasting his victory.

It got me to thinking how many books can I knock out in one blow. I’m not adventurous enough (and don’t have time enough) to write seven stories at once but I am inching up on four. Two books are in a series so it helps a little that the story lines from the previous book. The second set of books can be read as standalones but they are in an interconnected series.

One week into it and I’m feeling the mental drain but I’m determined to try to have all four drafts done by the end of June. With one completely edited and Arcs going out the first week in July. That’s a pretty firm date because the book has a tentative release date of July 12th.

Have you ever written more than one story at a time? Have they been interconnected series or standalones?

What about rapid releasing. Did it work for you.
